WOW

Also known as: Week-over-Week

Week-over-week comparison.

WOW (Week-over-Week) is a comparison of this Sunday's attendance to last Sunday's attendance. It is the simplest trend indicator available — a quick gut-check on whether the most recent service was up or down compared to the previous week.

Kingdom Metrics displays WOW as both an absolute number (e.g., +12 people) and a percentage change (e.g., +3.2%). While useful for spotting immediate shifts, WOW is inherently noisy — a single rainy Sunday or holiday weekend can produce a misleading swing.

Why it matters for your church: WOW is best used as a conversation starter, not a conclusion. If WOW shows a big drop, look at the rolling average before reacting. If the rolling average is stable, the single-week dip is noise. If WOW and the rolling average are both declining, that is a signal worth investigating.
